Massive England and Arsenal Fan!

Two games in and I am unimpressed by both tactics and player performance levels we look like the most disjointed team in the whole competition. The team and performance received some well-deserved criticism after the Denmark game and whilst we hear Gareth more or less agreeing this, I am amazed that we hear player comments trying to spin this.

I am a massive Declan Rice fan (club and country) but his comments around the “weight of expectation” are concerning but seem to sum up an Arsenal mentality so no surprise. Personally, the only expectation I have is that they give 100% and leave everything on the pitch. We are not getting this not even close.

Whilst we may on paper, have a team capable of winning the tournament in reality the sum of the parts (the team) does not look capable not even in the top 3. Is this a management issue? Maybe Gareth claims that the drop deep tactic was not one he has employed and yet I see no one on the pitch enforcing this – who is the leader in the team. Kane is captain but the worst drop deep offender so this can not be him, who has Gareth appointed to ensure this does not happen. I don’t see anyone doing it!!!!

I agree its where you finish that is the real test, so let’s hope that we start to see a true team performance from here on in.
